Root Canal is a Dental procedure to treat the infected tooth and prevent the bacterial infection in the future by keeping the natural teeth.
In this procedure , the inflamed pulp is removed and the inside areas are cleaned properly and the filling and sealing process are done.
The Doctors who are specialized in this treatment , an endodontist will carefully remove the inflmable or infected pulp from the root of the teeth and seal the space with filling. This procedure helps to get rid of the pain and restores the health of your infected tooth.
What is Root Canal?
To understand the Root Canal Treatment let us first go through the anatomy of the tooth. The root of the tooth has a soft tissue/pulp under the white layer (Enamel) and the hard layer (Dentin).
The pulp is important for the growth and deveopment of the teeth. It extends from the crown till the root and creates the hard tissues. However once the teeth has developed and matured it can survive without the pulp. When this pulp or soft tissues in the root are infected or inflamed , you will exoerience tooth decay and teeth pain. At this moment , the Dentist will recommend you to do the Root Canal Treatment. If this is not treated it will cause more pain and other serious dental problems.
Symptoms that says you need a Root Canal
